On September 5th of 2023, I found out that I am pre-diabetic, have high blood pressure and cholesterol, and to top it off, my thyroid is not functioning properly. My journey started from that moment on, and to this day, it has been a struggle to change from a person who ate anything to a person who only eats plant-based foods, all the while bidding farewell to the allure of junk food and sweets that once held me captive. In the blink of an eye, my world shifted. The simplicity of a meal became a complex calculation of carbohydrates, and the grocery aisles transformed into a maze of nutritional labels. Each day became a conscious effort to nurture my body, not just with food, but with understanding, patience, and self-compassion. It's not just about what's on my plate; it's about rewriting my relationship with food and redefining my sense of well-being. This journey, though laden with challenges, has become a catalyst for a profound transformation. It's a testament to my resilience and an exploration of the uncharted territories of my own strength. Join me as I navigate this uncharted path, finding courage in vulnerability and hope in the face of adversity. Together, let's embrace the uncertainties and celebrate every small victory, for in this journey, I've discovered not just the strength to combat my health issues, but also the resilience of the human spirit to triumph over the unexpected twists of life.

This journey is going to be an interesting one, laden with challenges that extend far beyond the realm of my health. As I grapple with managing my health issues, there's an additional weight on my shoulders — the pressing concern of having a stable roof over my head. The future feels uncertain, and amidst the chaos, there's a constant question looming: will there be a way for me to finish my degree before life takes another unexpected turn? Currently, my reality is a delicate balance, teetering between doctor's appointments, dietary restrictions, and the academic aspirations I hold dear. The very health issues that have rendered me physically incapable of working have also limited the time I can spend on the computer, a tool that once bridged the gap between my dreams and reality. Now, I find myself having to lay down and rest my body far more often than I ever anticipated. It's a humbling experience, a reminder of the fragility of human existence and the unpredictability of life's twists and turns.

In the midst of these challenges, there's a flicker of resilience. I've channeled my determination into small victories, building myself up, quite literally, step by step. I've embraced a daily exercise routine, even if it means starting with just 15 minutes a day.

These minutes may seem inconsequential to some, but to me, they represent progress, a testament to my willpower. Each day, as I push through the limitations of my body, I am reminded of my own strength — a strength that goes beyond physical endurance. It's a strength of spirit, a resilience that refuses to be dampened by the adversities I face. This journey, with all its complexities, has become a testament to my tenacity. It's a reminder that even in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds, there's a glimmer of hope. It's a beacon guiding me through the darkest of nights, illuminating the path to a future where I not only overcome my health challenges but also achieve my academic dreams. Join me as I navigate this intricate web of trials and triumphs, where every obstacle becomes an opportunity to discover the depths of my own resilience and the unwavering power of the human spirit.
